Classes

Classes give a good foundation for those who are new to the temple or new to Buddhism and provide a great opportunity to explore the teachings of the Buddhadharma.

Classes are typically held at least once per practice period:
September-December and January-April

No one is turned away from any of our activities for financial reasons.

Payment Options:

  • Place your cash or check payment in the dana (donation) boxes at each entrance of the temple.
    Label the envelopes provided with your name if you want a record for year-end taxes.

Intro to Meditation

In this foundational class you will learn and practice: various meditation postures, the “Three Foundation Stones”, the “Seven Eyes of Meditation” and the “Meditation Triangle”. This class is recommended as a prerequisite to all other classes and training at the temple.

Fundamentals of Buddhism

This is a class for those new to Buddhism who want to learn something of the basic principles and practices. Participants will learn about the Three Marks of the Dharma, the Four Noble Truths, The Noble Eightfold Path, and the Four Immeasurables, as well as some of the basic protocols of temple practice.

Intermediate Buddhism

This class will be available to anyone who has completed the Fundamentals of Buddhism Class. The class will delve deeper into key Buddhist principles valuable to developing and expanding your unique practice.
